' Wm' We, the seniors of 1954, remember clearly September 7, 1950, at exactly 9:00 o'clock when we, as convicts guilty of not being educated efficiently to meet the rival competition of the world, began our 4 year term of hard labor at good old Latah High School. Karl Ostheller, Harold Fricke, Bill Mossffrom Coulee Dam, Wash.J, Loretta Greenwalt, Verda Ravens, Audrey Matt, and Betty Berg answered the roll call, Mr. Miller was our advisor. The most memorable event of our Freshman year was initiation. We were dressed in various comical costumes, with onion necklaces, and were compelled to do stunts as the Sophomores directed. That evening the Sophomores gave us a nice party. later we gave the Freshmen Return Party. Our class had 10 members our Sophomore year. Dona Koehne, Robert Ottosen and Joel Martensen came to us from Fairfield. Mr. Stanford was our advisor. . September 19th we initiated the 14 freshmen and had frm doing it. A party that evening climaxed the day's events. Frankie Leitz joined us from Fairfield at mid year. The term of 1952-53 found us mighty and busy Juniors. Loretta Greenwalt became Mrs. Charles Schoonover. We chose and ordered our class rings, and after .a long interval of waiting they finally arrived. During the basketball season, we were very busy popping popcorn and selling it along with candy and pop at the basketball games. The money we earned would help pay for our Senior sneak. Christmas vacation Audrey Matt became Mrs. Donald Edmunds. We presented the Junior play ThisGh0SIS Business, on April 29. We gave the Junior-Senior Banquet at Scarpelli's Restaurant. The Junior year ended with decorating the gymnasium for commencement programs. Mr. Latimer served as our advisor. The most important year of our high school days, our Senior year, finally arrived. Our advisor was Mr. Miller. Our class again increased to 10 with the enrollment of Wayne Clark, from Scoby, Montana. Three members of our class, Verda, Betty and Karl completed their 12 years of schooling together at Latah School, Dorian studio took our graduation pictures in October. Also we ordered our calling cards, announcements, and made reservations for our caps and gowns early in the year. The publishing of our 1954 annual the Bobcats was one of our outstanding under- takings for this final term. The picture stories it holds will be treasured memories for many years. Our Senior play 'The Antics of Andrew, was given in the spring. The Juniors honored us at a very delicious banquet in Spokane. Our long planned sneak finally became a reality. We all had such a good time, we were sorry to have it end. The goal we had been working 4 years for was reached May 31, when we received our diplomas that certified years of hard work had been satisfactorily met. We were citizens, free to go our separate ways, accepting freely our responsibilities. 'bi . I
