MOSS Secretary Treasurer 3 ' Wm' We, the seniors of 1954, remember clearly September 7, 1950, at exactly 9:00 o'clock when we, as convicts guilty of not being educated efficiently to meet the rival competition of the world, began our 4 year term of hard labor at good old Latah High School. Karl Ostheller, Harold Fricke, Bill Mossffrom Coulee Dam, Wash.J, Loretta Greenwalt, Verda Ravens, Audrey Matt, and Betty Berg answered the roll call, Mr. Miller was our advisor. The most memorable event of our Freshman year was initiation. We were dressed in various comical costumes, with onion necklaces, and were compelled to do stunts as the Sophomores directed. That evening the Sophomores gave us a nice party. later we gave the Freshmen Return Party. Our class had 10 members our Sophomore year. Dona Koehne, Robert Ottosen and Joel Martensen came to us from Fairfield. Mr. Stanford was our advisor. . September 19th we initiated the 14 freshmen and had frm doing it. A party that evening climaxed the day's events. Frankie Leitz joined us from Fairfield at mid year. The term of 1952-53 found us mighty and busy Juniors. Loretta Greenwalt became Mrs. Charles Schoonover. We chose and ordered our class rings, and after .a long interval of waiting they finally arrived. During the basketball season, we were very busy popping popcorn and selling it along with candy and pop at the basketball games. The money we earned would help pay for our Senior sneak. Christmas vacation Audrey Matt became Mrs. Donald Edmunds. We presented the Junior play ThisGh0SIS Business, on April 29. We gave the Junior-Senior Banquet at Scarpelli's Restaurant. The Junior year ended with decorating the gymnasium for commencement programs. Mr. Latimer served as our advisor. The most important year of our high school days, our Senior year, finally arrived. Our advisor was Mr. Miller. Our class again increased to 10 with the enrollment of Wayne Clark, from Scoby, Montana. Three members of our class, Verda, Betty and Karl completed their 12 years of schooling together at Latah School, Dorian studio took our graduation pictures in October. Also we ordered our calling cards, announcements, and made reservations for our caps and gowns early in the year. The publishing of our 1954 annual the Bobcats was one of our outstanding under- takings for this final term. The picture stories it holds will be treasured memories for many years. Our Senior play 'The Antics of Andrew, was given in the spring. The Juniors honored us at a very delicious banquet in Spokane. Our long planned sneak finally became a reality. We all had such a good time, we were sorry to have it end. The goal we had been working 4 years for was reached May 31, when we received our diplomas that certified years of hard work had been satisfactorily met. We were citizens, free to go our separate ways, accepting freely our responsibilities. 'bi . I . , a,. 7744 The year is 1975. The place is the moon. The rocketship, Latah, has come in for a landing. The pilot, Franklin Leitz, who is exhausted from a 390, 000 mile flight taking 90 hours, steps out and sraggers to the Massage Parlor where Nurse Betty Berg is working. She is especially well trained in limbering the body that has become stiff from long intervals of muscular inactivity. One of the passengers, who descends from the ship is attired in the latest fashion, for Joel Martensen is always carefully dressed. Joel claims to have struck oil on the moon, and is returning from a business trip to the earth. He boards a space taxi for the Moonbeam Hotel which is owned by Wayne Clark. His hotel is famous for the scenic murals, that he had specially painted, reproducing the majestic mountains that tower above the busy city of Latah, Washington fearthj. While dining in the hotel restaurant, he is served by a cute waitress, Verda Mooncrater Qformerly Verda Ravensj. The position is only temporary for Miss Mooncrater. As soon as she can earn enough capital she plans on organizing a Cheerleaders Training School for the College of the Moon. For an evening of entertainment, Joel decided to go to the Sad Sack Theater to see a Moon Beam Picture entitled The Earth Men, starring Raymond Stiffneck fformerly Bill Mossy. Mr. Stiffneck began his theatrical career on earth, but due to the invention of hytomic television which travels directly to the moon, he was seen and liked by many of the moon people, so they insisted that he come to their planet to star in a series of pictures they were going to produce. After the show, Joel returned to his hotel in a Bobo Taxi, named for Bob Ottosen, owner and manager of the company. Bob owes his business success to Boom Miller fformer school principal on the earthy now president of the Boom Miller Moon Investment Corporation. There is but one college on the moon, a college for women who wish to study earth creatures. The president of this college is none other than Dona Snow Qformerly Dona Koehnej. President Snow believes that the different customs, habits, and characteristics of the two planets must be understood by each other if they are to live and work together harmoniously. The one professor, a very brilliant man, claims that he learned everything he knows at Latah Hi--this is hard to believe. The professor is Karl Ostheller, chairman of the Brain Study Department, which specializes in the brain actions of the ants- on earth. The college also boasts of another former Latah student who now teaches the moon people how earth people use automatic washers and dryers. He had a little training in this work at latah High School. He is l-larold Fricke. During his spare time Harold is working on a very important invention The Jupitor Express which if successful, will make him the first to explore the planet, Jupitor. and the thoughts of youth are long, long thoughts. s .-M.r1'UP'll1.e...,,, ..
