Even new members tiave been noted as asking, What exactly are we supposed to do? Our task was to put together the mem -ies that 2800 individuals shared in one year. One year ago this seemed an impossible and unavoidable task. Everything that putting a book together entails became a mind-boggling thought for an inexperienced leader and writer. At times I became unsure of my ability to control the twenty-eight creative minds on staff. I grew up a lot and learned even more about life and people. Deadlines became an evil word as did cropping and the phrase I have no pictures! Somehow each minor disaster was solved and the yearbook is finished. Page by page it developed itself into a symbol of the dedication and perserverence the staff has shown in the past year. Our job was not easy. An occassional photographer snapping pictures during lunch was the only clue given to the rest of the school, Ivleanwhile, however, layouts were being drawn, copy was being written, tempers were being tested, and nerves were being shaken. I ' m proud to have been involved with the ' 88 annual staff. We worked together willingly and unwillingly, to make a gift to the students, faculty, and school. It amazed me that the sacrifices have developed into these pages, I couldn ' t have done it without Jo ' s understanding and support— thanks for being there, I also want to thank Mr, Ewing for trusting me enough to give me all of the responsibility. Thanks to Shannon and Amy for the support— we did it! Most of all without the staff ' s dedication and hard work there wouldn ' t be this wonderful yearbook. I appreciate more than you will ever know. Amy Hurley — Associate Editor Shannon Filson — Associate Editor The past year at LHS has been the most memorable year. I will remember special friends like Nikki, all of Shan ' s love and support, growing up a lot and all of the arguing and frustration that has led to the printing of this book. I would personally like to thank the entire staff for their hard work and dedication and to say good luck to future staff members. Being on the Odyssey Staff for the past two years has been the highlight of my high school years. I would like to say thanks to everyone on staff for putting up with my temper and little quirks I have, (like becoming upset over missing cropers.) I would like to express my grati- tude to Mr, Ewing and Mrs. Klug for teaching me respon- sibility. Also, I would like to say thank you to Mr, Allen and Ms, Traylor for supporting the activities of the annu- al staff, Lisa, thanks for everything! David, thanks for loving me, it got me through the hard times. Goodbye Lassiter. iiDT©! ' ® [M@Tr CLOSING -311 ”
