The basketball team, the chess team, and the Interact Club all had something in com- mon. These three organizations, along with Lassiter ' s other clubs and athletic teams, were extracurricular activities. They met after school for practices or meetings, worked to achieve their goals, and in the pro- cess, enriched the lives of Lassiter ' s stu- dents. These groups instilled pride in the hearts of Lassiter ' s student population. Their dedication showed in their actions and on their faces. tct ' Li, ACTIVITIES • 289

The spirit banners, the music in the cafeteria, and the operation of the teleprompter were all supplied by members of extracurricular orga- nizations. The cheers of victory and the pangs of defeat echoed through the halls the morning after any game. The activities of these organizations touched every person in the school on any given day of the week.
