BA SIC CHORUS B B I • •« 00 09 p A « siii This choir involved people who were new in cho- rus. Some may have had previous singing exper- ience but chose not to audition for another choir. This group performed in concerts and at the Ka- leidscope Festival. Students learned the basics of singing, performing, and music reading. M I X r Students in this choir had to pass an audition to be accepted. This group became more active this year by performing both in school concerts and at off campus locations such as Merchants Walk and the Kaleidoscope Arts festival. The Orchestra was one of Lassiter ' s greatest assets during the school year. Not only did they perform three times at Lassiter, they per- formed at such events as the Orchestra Symposium at the University of Tennessee and Kaleidoscope. In the spring, the orchestra participated in the GMEA District 12 Orches- tra Festival, where they have scored highly in the past. Its members also participated in the All-State Orchestra. Both Ensembles included members from both Advanced choirs. Practicing only after school, these ensembles per- formed throughout the Atlanta area. Both competed In the GMEA Choral Festival and Solo and Ensemble this year. CHORALE The Chorale consisted of a group of talented sing- ers who followed a demanding performance schedule. Among other performances, this choir sang at the Cherokee Towne Club ' s Wassail Ball and Marietta ' s Hospice Day. The Chorale also participated in this year ' s GMEA Choral Festival. This carefully chosen choir performed fre- quently thoughout the Atlanta area. In addi- tion to the regular school concerts, this choir performed at the Pickett Suite Hotel during the Christmas season. The girls per- formed at Marietta Square for Hospice Day. The choir participated in the Georgia Music Educator ' s association Choral Festival where they have received excellent ratings in past years of performing. The Miss Odys- sey Beauty Pageant, which was spon- sored by the Chorus, proved to be a tremendous success. Members of the advanced choirs sang the national an- them at several basketball games and journeyed to Walt Disney World for a performance.
