Members of the Beta Club are hardworking, dedicated, and caring students who have a 3.5 GPA or above. As one of Lassiter ' s community-service organizations, the Beta Club donated canned goods to needy families at Thanksgiving and Christmas. A Beta Bonanza was held in December, and the winner, KimPritchard, wonaSlOO gift certificate to Macy ' s. Members also went to the Beta State Convention. This year ' s National Honor Society was co-sponsored by Mr. Dech- man and Ms. Vaal. The Honor Society operated the teleprompter in the cafeteria, sponsored a very successful Blood Drive, and bought electric pencil sharpeners for some teachers with money earned from a Halloween doughnut sale.
