L. U. I-I. S. FOOTBALL The footballers of l937 played hard, fast football and although they did not have a winning season, they did give their opponents real battles. Captain Marion Larrea furnished the most exciting offensive play of the season when he intercepted a pass and dashed to a touchdown to win the Red Bluff tussle. BASKETBALL A TEAM Basketball is undoubtedly one of the most strenuous sports in which one can participate. Along with the ability to display teamwork must come a certain amount of individuality which cannot be overplayed. The A team presented a championship to the local high school this past season, defeating their worthy adversaries, Westwood and Alturas. Although the team lost four out of five games played with Nevada teams, they remained above all California teams they met. Basketball sweaters were purchased by lettermen this year. The players met two professional teams, and also several town teams. They defeated the Bed Heads and were caught on the short end of the score when they came up against the Globe Trotters. Several journeys to distant schools were on this year's schedule.
