For Four Years . . . In September, 1952, one of the largest fresh- man classes entered LaSalle High School. Their freshman year was uneventful except for a gala party early in the spring of 1953. It entailed a scavenger hunt which is still well-remembered by the participants. In their sophomore year, with Iudy Lee as pre- sident, the class sponsored a few dances and sold pencil pennants to raise funds for their Iunior Prom and banquet the coming year. In the fall of 1954 the class elected Ron Walker president and began building their treasury. They sold the left over pencil pennants, sponsored dances, and sold pop. Finally Prom time rolled around, and the hard working class began the decorating which carried out the Hawaiian Cruise theme. Three days after the memorable prom the Class of '56 entertained the Class of '55 at a banquet. In their last year, the most important year of all, the Class of '56 chose Gilbert Ziegler as president. As seniors they sponsored the annual Sadie Hawkins Dance in the fall and the Silver Bells Ball at Christmas time. They also edited the Purple and Gold News and the Hiawathan. For class colors they have chosen blue and silvery their class flower is lily of the valley: and their motto is Quo Vadis? The Class of '56 has had a number of out- standing athletes and musicians and several honor students. After Commencement the Seniors of '56 leave the halls of LaSalle, each going his separate way, cherishing the memories of four wonder- ful years of high school.
