Individuals were sued by mem- bers of the faculty and the Student Senate. The Student Enforcement Commission played a major role in the suits, since serv- ing subpoenas is one of its numerous jobs. The SEC was organized primarily to dis- courage students who tend to avoid assem- blies. Mr. Harvey Dondero, who acted in this capacity un- til a new administrator could be chosen, did a commendable job as superintendent for most of the first semester. Mr. Leland B. Newcomer was selected as Superintendent of Schools early in October. Mr. Newcomer was assistant super- intendent at Covina, California. He was edu- cated at La Verne College and Claremont Grad- uate School. He is currently working towards a doctorate at the University of Southern Califor- ma. Harvey N.
