N, RON FIFIELD SOCIAL EVENTS The Student Council, composed of Student Body officers and or- ganizational representatives, plays a vital part in the life of Las Lomas. Because of the members' conscientious efforts, student govern- ment has progressed by leaps and bounds. This year the Council's accomplishments include the establishment of the House of Representatives, the Council of Organizations, the Snack Bar and an organized school budget. One factor contributing to the great success ofthe Student Council this year was the formal conducting of meetings as introduced by Mr. Burk E. Faraola, Leadership instructor. PRESlDENT'S MESSAGE We, the Seniors are now beginning to realize the serious and sober responsibilities that confront us in the too near future. Four years ago, one hundred and fifty sudents and a staff of seven teachers, laid the foundations for the Las Lomas that we have all learned to honor and love. ln this brief span of time we have seen our student body grow from this small nucleus to an organizational government that will be a potential force in shaping future policies of our school. Athletic teams of Las Lomas have brought out wonderfully, the true spirit of the school, and all of us can point with pride to the two sportsmanship trophies awarded us in football and basketball by the note of our fellow athletic league members. To have been president of the Student Body during its first grad- uation year is an honor that I will always cherish. l wish to thank all of you for the gallant support you have given to our Student Council and to me during this past year. Your co-operation and spirit of loyalty has made the Class of '55 and all of Las Lomas what it is today. 71 .wf geffa .-., Seated L. to R.: Ken Stevens, Nick McGrath, Pat Dougherty, Jerrie Kennerly, Diana Woodland.
