SENIOR CLASS HISTORY September, 1951 .... 146 anxious and bewildered freshmen at an open air assembly listening to the first speeches given at Las Lomas .... This is a special occasion. Never again will there be a day like this in the history of Las Lomas, said Mr. Russell, and he was so right .... October .... school colors, nickname chosen .... newspaper christened the PAGE .... December .... Danny Van Gelder draws winning emblem for Las Lomas Knights .... January, 1952 ..,. Winter Carnival is first dance, managed by Doris Griffin .... February .... first rally .... Moy Las Lomas Amigos May Fiesta. October, 1952 .... Ted Jensen elected Class President .1.. Sophomores start off the year with Neptune's Kingdom dance ..., December .,.. upperclassmen lose the student body card sales contest, and pay forfeit with a Christmas Assembly .... April 1953 .... Sophs beat Frosh in interclass track meet, 68-14 .... June .... first EL CABALLERO pub- lished, with Ron Ray, Editor. October Bob Riegg becomes Junior Class President .... first class meeting held by Juniors, they select ring, plans under way for Junior Prom .... April, 1954 .... first representatives to Girl's and Boy's State - Georgia Brum and Ed Kinney - selected ..... May .... gym reflects a shimmering blue and silver hue from Prom decorations, as the year comes to a happy ending with Blues in the Night ..., Manager, Dan Kavert, Co- manager, Derryl DeGuire and Theme and Decorations chairmen Pat Dougherty and Linda Young lend much time and effort to its success. September, 1954 .... with Ed Kinney at the helm, the class of '55 sails into the Senior year, taking over the Senior Hall and Rally Court Lawn .... first varsity football game hats in all colors and sizes for Senior l-lat Day .... November . . .. unusual socks for Senior Sock Day .... other gala specialty days throughout the year, Coat Day, Dark Glasses Day, and Costume Day. . . December.. . Seniors' huge dramatic production Arsenic and Old Lace a tremendous success .... April .... Extra Dance lots of fun May predictions made at Senior Banquet June the BIG month is finally ushered in, with a gorgeous Senior Ball and after party. Last minute plans are being made for the Baccalaureate June 12, Senior Breakfast June 15, and Commence- ment Exercises June 19. This class has received much appreciated support from the parents during its four years at Las Lomas. For those of you who yet have years to complete as Knights and Ladies, we hope the ensuing years will be iust as much of a pleasure.
