class and suddenly you realize that your term paper is due today! You beg, you plead with the Killer, but to no avail! Oh, well, you think, I'll just make it up in extra credit. 3:05pm- Well, again you triumphantly made it through lunch without dying of food poisoning. You also slipped through 4th and 5th, and 6th is almost over! All you can think of is the week- end, when, all of a sudden, your teacher announces that-a 22 page paper on the city of Kalamazoo will be due on Mon- day! You cringe in your seat and dream about life without school! When sudden- ly: 6:30am- Monday: BAM, BANG, BUZZ!! lt all begins again. The week ahead will be monotonous and tiring, but memo- ries will be made . . . the best is yet to come. if 2 l Robert Perez leaves on a band excursion. 2 Laura and Johnnie, they aren't eating the cafeteria food. 3 The riveting lecture captures the attention of the juniors during registration. 4 Pam Reynolds sits in the shade during lunch with some friends. 5 Kim Caperton is preparing to get dressed up for the homecoming parade. 3 4 in the limelight Jo Ditt Danley, Southern New Mexico State Fair Queen. I ran for fair queen 'for the education, experience and fun of it. l love meeting people and brightening my little corner of the world. And what better thing to represent than Southern New Mexico and the country that l love? My duties as fair queen include: repre- senting the fair at all fair activities, rid- ing in Las Cruces, El Paso, Deming 8 Alamogordo parades, riding in the grand entry at the Coors World Finals Rodeo, in charge of contacting sponsors and getting donations. My other main interest is in rodeo. l started at the age of 4, and have been hooked ever since. I am a member of several organizations. Oh, well, that's only one strike against you - you're not going to let it ruin your day! Off to school you go, taking with you a cheerful smile and leaving behind your so-close-to-fin ished term paper, and it's due today! 8:03am- Social time!
