picked us up, and asked us where we'd been for the last few years. We thought it was a nice question, hrtdidnk know the answer so we just giggled. Marge bought her ball bat and we parted upon leaving the store. One of the bright three suggested stopping in at the UDonut Shopu across the street. We walked up to the counter and ordered coffee and donuts. We ate themandasked for our checkf NBut girls, it's on the house.N We looked at the waitress and asked why. UDon't you remember me? I'm Velma Gaff and I now own this shop, she said. Nlfyou wait awhile Jeanne Gebert and some of her college friends will be in. Just then the door opened and Velma said, Uhere she is now.W Jeanne spoke to us and introduced us to her friends. We asked Jeanne what she was studying in college now. She said that she was now studying medicine and would soon graduate. We left the donut shop and started to the hotel. We decided to take the street car, but before we got on someone yelled at us from a factory car. We thought we'd better go over and investigate. On the car door was Hearn Manufactur- lQi QQQEQQXQ underneath this Was EQU1 HQQTQQ E!e5iQeQQ- Nkhat do you think of a president driving fn old car like this aroundu, he asked. UDo you have a driver's license?n we questioned. He laughed and said be had. So we told him it was all right. WYou kids haven't changed much,W he said. I would like to stay and talk longer but I am due at a meet- ing in fifteen minutes.N He said, USO long,n and drove off. 4 We got on the street car, and as we crossed the next intersection a truck coming from the other way forgottxastop and hit the street car. We were knocked out, and came to in an ambulance. nCan't you kids stay out of trouble?H we were asked and finally we saw someone we knew. It was none other than Robert Hartman. UWhat's the big idea running all over town pretending you don't know anyone you graduated with back in U4.W, Bud inquired. We told him we couldn't remem- ber anything since our plane had crashed. He looked as if he doubted what we said and we asked him what he was doing. He said that he had acquired his life long ambition and is now a mortician. We asked how his business was and he said, HRather stiff, but I like it that way.n We asked him if all the kids in our class were still around. He said that they were and we decided to look them up before we started back to our Destination Unknown.
