SENIOR HISTORY September of l944, found thirty-eight, pupils looking forward to the long and hard journey through Larwill High School. Those from Larwill were Jeanne .Gebert, Ronald Weaver, Robert Hartman, Robert Smith, Gene Bohnstedt, Martha Leutz, Glora Souders, Vera Buntain, Cecil Huntley, Geraldine Huntley, Joyce Weirick, Marjorie Noble, William Phend, J. D. Boggs, May Stump, Lee Eberly, Velma Gaff, Huletta Jackson, Joan Weybright, Phyllis Vandersaul, Hal Schuman, Robert Cramer, Duane Hawn, Eldon Mosher, Paul Gates, Pat Cole, Evelyn Elkins. Those from Troy were Bonnie Kile, Evawn Marrs, Joyce Holycross, Paul Hearn, Joann Bohnstedt, Marjory Orcutt, Harold Van Voorst, Joan Werstler, William Watson, Genevieve Banning, Gerald Bills. y J. D. Boggs got a late start to school and Clara Jean Clark came from Roanoke the last of September. Lucille Egolf left in October to go to California. J. D. Boggs withdrew in January, Doris Bowers came from Pierceton and Clara Jean Clark went back to Roanoke. William Watson aw Cecil Huntley withdrew to go to work. i May Stump left us to attend North Webster. In March Janice Ward and Rosetta Mussleman came from Columbia City, Lucille Egolf came back from California and 15 days later entered ,Columbia City. This ,left our class with thirty- nine members at the end of the Freshman year. Thurlow Schuh was elected sponsor. The class elected Jeanne Gebert, President, Ronald Weaver, Vice President, Joan Werstler, Secretary and Treasurer. The first party was a hayride to South Whitley to the show, the second was a weiner roast held at the Community Building. ' The Sophomore year began with thirty-six members. In the first semester Paul Gates, Robert Cramer, Duane Hawn and Geraldine Huntley withdrew to seek fame and fortune. Rosetta Mussleman entered Kendallville. James Rose came from Concordia in Fort Wayne and in January he again entered Concordia.. By spring there were still twenty-eight doing their best to get through school. Eudolph Holycross was elected sponsor. The first party was a Halloween Party at the home of Jeanne Gebert, the sec- ond was a weiner roast at Robert Hartman's sugar camp. A Jeanne Gebert and Huletta Jackson were chosen high school cheer leaders.
