HISTORY Thirty-three freshmen clambered aboard and set sail our ship toward an unknown destiny in the fall of '58 under the guidance of our sponsor, Miss Ruth Ann Thompson. When we looked over our report in the log again at the end of the year we found we had, two new members aboard, Argyle Beard and Maxine Hurd. Listed a- mong the missing were Bonita Hickman, Ruth Jackson, Wilbert North, and Valeta Suter. Our roll according to the log was then number- ed at thirty-one. In the fall of '59 we found a few more changes had been made. Robert Moore had l,ft'uS during the summer wnd Norbert Groves, Robert Hollopeter, Paul Groves, June Marker had enrolled, making us a total of thirty-four. In the fall of '40 we had thirty members with Robert Hollob peter and Norbert Groves missing and Arlls Orcutt joining our ranks. Phil Mosher left us in September to find work elsewhere, Glenn H olycross left in November to help his father on the fa- rm and Harriett Ward left in October to join the ranks of matrim- ony. Alyce Hill from Churubusco joined us in March which made us a total of thirty members. In the fall of '41 we had twenty-six members. Dale Johnston had left us to go to Columbia City, Addie Mae Cramer decided to do some other work, Mildred Firestone dropped back a year because of illness and Velma Hertsel decided to get married. Martha Jackson joined us from South Whitley. In January Harold Martz left us to go to Columbia City and Argyle Beard left us to help his father on the farm. During our four years of high school we have received our share of honors. In the freshman year Vielet Norris and Lois Sweeney wont to the Algebra Contest at North Manchester As Sophmores Robert Hollopeter went to the Latin Contest. Lauretta Cummins attended the Geometry Contest and we won the girls inter- class tourney for which we received a tropy. Violet Norris att- ended the Sunshine Camp at Camp Tecumseh for ten days in the summer of '40 and Ruth Johnson and Lwis Sweeney attended the Sun- shine Camp for ten days in the summer of '4l. We won the boy's interclass tourney this year. Dean Whitleather received the free throw medal in basketball. Our class colors are red and whiteg our class flower is the rosog and our motto is nLaunehed, but not nnchored.W The name of our annual nRefleetorN is to be used for all annuals hereafter. Our class sponsor is Miss Walters and Class officers are Edna Waterson, President: Lois Sweeney, Vice-President: and V101- et Norris, Secretary-Treasurer. .
