HCMECOMINC ACTIVITIES Homecoming 1984 was a mixture of traditional and new events. The week was enhanced by four spirit days: Tuesday was sweats day: Wednesday was dress-up day, Thursday was punk day: and Friday was blue and white day. To replace the annual bonfire, a pep rally was held Thursday during school. Friday morning found the trees bedecked with white streamers. Excite- ment built all day and peaked at the pep assembly 7th hour, in which the class of '86 won the spirit stick for the third consecu- tive year. After school the annual parade marched down Larkin Avenue, cheered on by many onlookers. At the game Friday, winners in the Float competition were announced. The Senior's took best all-around, and the Iuniorts won most original. Also, the Homecoming King and Queen were announced. Crowned were Mark Gardner as King and Iennifer Rakow as Queen. The only damper on the whole week was a disappointing loss to West Aurora by our previously unbeaten football team. Capping off the week was the dance Saturday night. It was a great way to end another great Homecoming at Larkin. -vw-uwnif The Poms routine to Flamethrower heats up the assembly.
