94!Golf Packer Whackers Vie For Top In PCC GOLF Largo opened its season with a series of early wins to jump into second place in con- ference competition. Under the direction of Coach Bill Schroeder, Largo's Linksters were strong contenders for the conference crown, Only Dunedin had a better record entering the second half of the season. Iunior Bill Curtis led the field with his professional sounding scores, with Randy Seay, Benny Smithers, and Don Morelli close behind. Smithers and Ieff Hollis give Largo future hopes with both swingers having two more years on the squad. With only two seniors on the team, the Pack- ers seem to be sure bets for conference top honors in the years to come. Top Right: Sophomore sensation B. Smithers belts a tee shot. Right: I. Hollis, D. Varsity Puts Squeeze Cn Qpponents VARSITY WRESTLING Under the guidance of head coach Iack Stabler, the Packer Grapplers wrestled their way to the runner-up position in the Pinellas County Con- ference. Their only conference loss was to first place Northeast. Steve Huber and sophomore Dave Wilder earned all conference honors in their respective weight classes. Iimmy Wheaton, Don Henke, and Ken Thomas added great depth to the squad by continuously pinning their opponents with ease. Many talented juniors give next year's team a bright outlook with Frank Schwirian, Don Stowers, Tom Parker, and Iim Card all returning.
