ST. PETE Revenge was the goal and victory was the result as the Pack demolished St. Pete, 21-7. Steve Webb and Bruce Fowler ran for touchdowns on offense in the homecoming victory, while Rick Starr tallied on a blocked punt. Tom Parker and Steve Huber led the defense. Starr's sparkling performance earned him the Unheralded Hero award. Moreover, the Packers made homecoming a night to remember. PACKERS - 21 ST. PETE - 7 GIBBS Largo's offense ran wild while the Mean Machine defense scored a shut- out as the Pack destroyed Gibbs, 34-0. Bruce Fowler ran for two touchdowns. Steve Webb and Mike DeMarco also hit paydirt. Leonard Allen raced 80 yards with an interception for the fifth touch- down of the game. Terry Wheaton and Steve Hall combined for 128 yards through the air, hitting on 10 of 13 pas- ses. Everything clicked. The Packers were marked as a reality. PACKERS - 34 GIBBS - 0 72!Vars1ty Football

DIXIE HOLLINS After a 7-6 lead at halftime, the Pack fell to the Rebels of Dixie Hollins, 31-13. Bob Prescott ran 45 yards with a fumble and Terry Wheaton flipped a pass to Iim Minskey to round out the Packer scoring. Although Prescott and Don Henke were bright spots on defense, the Rebel offense ran wild over the Pack. PACKERS - 13 DIXIE HOLLINS - 31 LAKEWOOD The Packers got back on the winning track as they knocked off the Lakewood Spartans, 24-21. Steve Webb scored twice in the second half and Mike DeMarco once as the Pack rolled up 137 yards in the third quarter. Steve Hall booted three extra points and a 22 yard field goal to close out the scoring. Terry Taylor intercepted two passes while Doug Baker and Craig Cannon made up the backbone of the defense. SEMINOLE Kill the bird. That was the cry of the Packer backers as they jammed Seminole's tiny stadium. After falling behind, the Pack came back as Steve Webb blasted in from four yards out. With the score 7-7 in the fourth quarter, the Warhawks were forced to punt deep in their own territory. Rick Starr got a hand on it to give Largo good field posi- tion. Webb tallied from the one and the Packers led 14-7. To the crowd's disbelief, Seminole drove for a touchdown and a two point conversion late in the quarter. A glassy- eyed Largo squad walked away with a 15-14 defeat. The bird had survived. PACKERS - 14 SEMINGLE - 15 DUNEDIN The Packers tuned up for their showdown with Clearwa- ter by trouncing the Falcons of Dunedin 28-17. Fullback Steve Webb rambled for three touchdowns with superb blocking from the line - led by Don Stowers and Iohn Campbell. Terry Wheaton called an impressive game and ran for a four yard score. Chris Bennett and Doug Baker led the defense while Ronnie Roberts scooped up a fumble and picked off a pass. Clearwater will not take Largo lightly next Thursday.
