H , ,km LIC ENTERTAINS JUNIOR COLLEGE COUNCILS, WHICH AWARD LAREDO WITH ASSOCLATION PRESIDENCY Delegates from junior colleges student councils throughout Texas like the way Laredo's council does things. This must be so, otherwise they would not have chosen our council to be Presi- dent of the Association. Sixteen junior college councils sent representa- tives here March I4 and 15. Those attending heard Dr. james W. Reynolds, authority on jun- ior college education. They were stimulated by a model meeting presented by the local council. They enjoyed getting to know one another, es- pecially while on a conducted tour of our sister city. At a banquet, Mayor Pro Tem A. E. Cuajardo welcomed the visitors to the city, and Webb county Representative Oscar Laurel spoke. The Texas Dancev following featured scenes from Texas history, songs by the Cay Notes and II- year-old Francisco Martinez, and dancing by Adelina Lleverino and the Gonzalez twins. 1958 59 Texas junior College Student Council Association oflicers are Laredo President Whar ton County Vice President Temple Secretary Treasurer and Odessa Parliamentarian Presen presidents of those college councils are above Howard Ruhlman jean Collins Carol Wheeler and Moselle Alden I LAREDO Registration, upper right, at the Corral, initiated the convention.
