Also they are prominent on the Streets of Laredo in activating many other functionings of the city, such as the internationally famous Washington's Birthday Celebration. The 1958 February 22nd holiday was the 61st year that this area-on both sides of the river-honored the man so much responsible for the independence of all the American republics. Delia Palacios, L. This must be so, otherwise they would not have chosen our council to be Presi- dent of the Association. Sixteen junior college councils sent representa- tives here March I4 and 15. Those attending heard Dr. james W. Reynolds, authority on jun- ior college education. They were stimulated by a model meeting presented by the local council. They are almost one-fifth of the pueblo's population. Laredo becomes an incorporated town.
