The National Honor Society began its year with the informal induction of the new members. Each new member had a choice of receiving a pin or a necklace with the National Honor Society emblem. N.H.S. rec- ognizes students with high qualities in scholarship, leadership, character, and service. A student must have a B average or better to be consid- ered for the society. This year there was no set percent of students enter- ing as in years past. Teachers rated the students and those receiving a set number of points were accepted. The N.H.S. sponsored several skat- ing parties during the year as money making projects. They were also in charge of presentations of the Thanksgiving, Christmas, and Eas- ter convocations. Debbie Plummer and her date take a refreshing pause at the elegant serving table. Becky Sears, Greg Tarvin, Bev Rushton and Andy Griffin relax after a dance. Imagine all the people living for today. You may say I'm a dreamer, but I'm not the only one. This was the appropriate theme for the 1974 Junior-Senior prom, because IMAG- INE is exactly what many couples did as they entered their fantasy- land. A breathtaking scenery of mystic lighting, greenery, and flow- ing fountains was just enough to make the dreamy couples live their happiness. The prom was held in the Grand Ballroom at BSU with Madi- son Zane providing the music. Excitement tensified as the king and queen candidates appeared. Many different emotions were dis- played when Elaine May and Jeff Huntzinger were chosen as king and queen. The new queen was crowned by the reigning queen, Michelle Breece. With only a few moments left to enjoy the imaginary world, many couples left with feelings of joy and sorrow. The '74 prom was truly a suc- cess, not for one night, but for al- ways as we carry memories of that dreamland. And we hope one day you'll join us and the world will be as one. Ronnie Hull and Debbie Brown will always re- member the last dance of a most enchanting evening Prom 17
