Dedication In recognition of this couple’s part in the Lapeer Senior High, we dedicate our 1971 Pantherscope to Mr. and Mrs. Stewart W. Thiemkey. The Thiemkeys are living at 1268 Knollwood Drive in Lapeer and have lived in or near Lapeer most of their lives. Mr. Thiemkey was born in Hadley and Miss Anderson (as Mrs. Thiemkey was then) was born in Northville. Michigan. After graduating from Hadley High, Mr. Thiemkey attended Eastern Michigan University and the University of Michigan. He majored in American history and has been teaching for 41 years. He has been in the Lapeer school system for 28 years. Mr. Thiemkey enjoys golf, and when he finds time he likes to fish at North Lake in Glennie, Michigan where he and his wife own a vacation cottage. Mrs. Thiemkey graduated from Northville High School and went on to acquire her degree in English literature at Eastern Michigan University. She has been teaching in Lapeer for 23 years. In her spare time she loves to sew, and travel. In the years they have been married they have been to Europe three times. They spent the Christmas of 1969 on the Spanish Riviera. The Thiemkeys have been married for 21 years this June and have five children. Their youngest son, Bill, isa member of the graduating class of 1971. Mr. and Mrs. Thiemkey have been very helpful to the students of Lapeer, both as teachers and class sponsors. They have been dedicated in their work to bring knowledge to the younger generation of this community, and for these reasons, we dedicate our book to them.
