Under the coaching of Miss Dormire, the girls exhibited their best in skills and teamwork, whether they were cheering at a football game, basketball game, or pep assembly. If the team happened to be losing, they faced the future with the brightest possible outlook and never once let the team or fans see their disappointment. What did the Student Council accomplish this year? Here’s the answer! First of all, tradition was broken. Our Homecoming Ceremony was enlarged by adding floats from all the classes. This will now become a traditional and competitory part of the Lapeer Homecoming. Secondly, the Student Council strived to reach a goal, and finally were victorious. The student body acquired a pop machine for use during lunch hours. I ast but not least, the Student Council thought again of pleasure for the Lapeer student body. The music during lunch hour is provided for our enjoyment by the Student Council. President. There they learned the fundamentals of producing an interesting and modern yearbook. The summer months found us planning—pictures, pages, copy—all in preparation for September when the real work would begin. With the beginning of a new school year, we had high hopes of producing the perfect yearbook. These thoughts faded with the first deadline and in their place came the desire to produce the best book possible. We’ll never forget the late nights before deadlines spent drawing up layouts; writing and typing copy; and taking, developing, and cropping pictures—deciding on just the right effect. This was our 1969. We’ll never forget it. We hope, with the help of this book, you’ll always remember yours. Time it was, And what a time it was, A time of innocence, A time of confidences. Long ago ... it must be .. . I have a photograph. Preserve your memories; they re all that s left of you.
