Valedictorian Leota Dunham, the valedictorian, is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Leo Dunham, of 1774 Clark Road, Lapeer. Before entering Lapeer Junior High School in the seventh grade, she attended Newark rural school in grades kindergarten to six. During her high school career, Leota has been an active member of The Victorious Christian Youth group, of which she was an officer in grades 10, 11 and 12. She has also been a member of Drama Club and participated in the Girls Athletic Club. Leota's hobbies include swimming and sewing. Because of her deep interest in church work, she plans to either attend the Detroit Bible Institute or take correspondence work through the Moody Bible Institute, for future religious work possibly in the area of child evangel ism. Salutatorian Don LeDuc, the salutatorian of the class of 1960, is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Paul LeDuc, of 46 Pope Street, Lapeer. Don has always attended Lapeer City Schools. During his four years of high school, he has participated in football and basketball during all four years and baseball for three years. He is a member of the Varsity Club, of which he is president this year. Drama Club, History Club, the Future Teachers Club, and he has also participated in both the Junior and Senior Plays. Don has served as class president for two years and has been on the class board of directors during his senior year. Don has also been the president of Student Council during his junior and senior years and as a junior, he was selected to attend Wolverine Boys’ State. Don plans to attend college where he will prepare for a career in either law or medicine. 18
