Nothing could stop us from becoming the greatest class in L. H. S. history. We elected our class officers: Dan Sullivan - president, Paul Greassar - vice-president, Janet Gwinn - secretary, and Carol Diedrick - treasurer. We put up a stout fight but lost the field day to the older sophs. by a narrow margin. We shook that off and in the spring tackled the freshman-soph- omore prom with full vigor. It was a very nice dance we put on, and we have been proud of it to this day. So ended our first year in high school. ln September of 1950, we started a victorious sophomore year with even more spirit. We confidently chose: Dan Sullivan - president, Pat Wilson - vice-presi- dent, Carol Diedrick - secretary, Betty Rowden - treasure. We romped over the freshman in the field day and looked on the bigger things. Our chance to dethrone the juniors in the Student Council elections was used with success, and we suc- ceeded in sweeping in all three of our candidates: Dan Sullivan - president, Pat Wilson - vice-resident, Betsy Pickard-secretary-treasurer. We closed the year with an enjoyable dance put on by the freshman and the assembling of one of the best floral ropes ever carried by a graduating class. The fall of 1951, found us back in school looking forward to an eventful year. To lead us we chose: Chuck Schroeder - president, Don Russell - vice-president, Carol Diedrick - secretary and Betty Rowden - treasurer. We produced a great play, The Little Dog Laughed starring Richard Moses and Phyllis Stevens. Another feather in our cap was the re-electing of Pat Wilson and Besty Pickard to the staff of three Student Council officers. As spring wore on we were con- fronted with putting on the biggest event of the year, the junior-senior prom. We chose the theme, A Stairway to the Stars . The gymnasium was decorated with sparkling stars and beautiful murals, and the prom was a huge success. The annual swing-out closed another unforgettable year! ln 1952 we returned to school as high and mighty seniors. We chose as our able leaders for our final year: Dan Sullivan - president, Chuck Schroeder - vice-president, Sandra Russell - secretary, and Norma Schoultz - treasurer. Many events marked the last year of our days in Lapeer High School. For our Senior play we chose a three-act comedy starring Gilbert Henderson and Anita Raths with an all-star cast which made it a big success . Another big job was the yearbook. We elected Janet Gwinn as editor-in-chief, and she and the staff did a first-rate job as you can see. All too quickly came the prom and the trip, There were also the Swing-Out Day, Baccalaureate, Honor Assembly, and Commencement. Unbelievable as it may seem, our high school years were over. Looking back at the past four years, we would like to show keep appreciation to all our sponsors, Mr. Bachus, Mrs. Weaver, Mr. Rhodes, Mrs. Lhendorff, and Miss Ross, along with Mr. Schickler and Mr. Seaton, for their guidance and wonderful help through our 'last high school year. 36 oft-wi Ruth Andress, do will by black hair to Dale Hutchinson.
