Friends During high school, friends are probably the most influential people in our lives. We spend most of our time either with them at school, or talking with them for hours on the phone after school. Some of them will remain close only while we are in school, while others will be life- long friends. When we are with our friends, we can be our- selves, because we know that they like us for who we are. Our friends also widen our hori- zons by getting us involved in things we wouldn't do on our own. Since this can be good or bad, choosing our friends well is one of the most important things we learn in high school. TOP: Left: Our Foreign Friends Center: Lisa Robinet and Jll Holman. Family Looking around Lapeer East one might think they are seeing double. With so many sets of twins, this is easy to understand. If having a twin, look-alike or not, can make things interesting, having your mom or dad at school really can. Having a family member at school can definitely have its disadvantages. Not only must you con- stantly behave , for fear of looking around the corner and seeing the face of your brother or sister, but you must always be reminded of life at home and your family. Aside from the bad things, a brother, sister, mom or dad can came in quite handy. When home- work assignments are forgotten, they always seem to remember. They will lend a helping hand when your day has gone badly. They are always around when you need a shoulder to lean on, or just a little push to keep your day moving. These things can be a rewarding part of anyone's life, and can also bring you closer. TOP Left: Marty and Kelly Russell. Center: East staff and chil- dren. Right: The Speck Sisters. Center: The Parker family is unusual with two sets of twins Len and Sherry, Lyle and Carolyn. Right: Lisa Rachael Hajnal: Aime and Alice Williams. BELOW Having the same last name does not always mean you are related, as demonstrat- ed by Mike and John Smith. Opening 7
