THE EAGLES Lapeer East celebrated its second annual Homecoming on October 14, though its first ever in the Eagle Stadium. Lapeer East fans welcomed Sheri Clark, who was escorted by Mike Ongena, as their 77-78 Queen. Theresa Bulzan, 76-77 Queen, crowned Sheri during halftime. On the field with Sheri were Robin Foster, accompanied by Chris Potter, Shan- non Boyden, with Bill Koza, Terri Ribble and Jeff Wonch, Lori Pelette and Greg Jensen, and Natalie Smith, escorted by Dan Millis. On the court, representing their classes, were junior Rhonda Hackney, sophomore Shelly Sweeney, and freshman Jill Coppa. Downtown students enjoyed a parade of floats, in which the juniors won with the theme Gonna Fly Now . Afterwards the Ea- gle football team played a close, tense game with Holly, the final score being 13-14. The following morning the girls tried their luck, as the Junior Juveniles played a powder puff game against the Senior Bonafieds, the final score: S.B. 38 J.J. 34. Two close games. Then the Homecoming weekend came to an end with a Homecoming Dance for which the Teasers provided the entertainment. — What a weekend. 13

EAGLE BANDS ARE MARCHING BY All the Lapeer East Bands swing to the tune above, and under the direction of Mr. Joesph Dobos, they kick out some moving music. Marching band can be found at any home game, entertaining the fans and pulling off half-time shows with plenty of flair. After the rough and ready pace of marching band, symphony band is a quiet but exciting change. The symphony works hard for concerts and district festivals that round out the season. Concert band is busy too, with preperations for concerts, in which they back up the symphony. These concerts are a very important part of the bands active life. Besides these three main established bands, things are happening in the band room too. Pep band is nestled in the eagle aerie on home-game nights, helping build enthusiasm and spirit with rousing songs. With all this being done, and well at that, the bands certainly have the right to “raise their heads.
