Their season's record was marred only by a scoreless tie with Three Lakes but it did not prevent the Kellys from winning their first football championship in sixteen years. The team gave the fans plenty of thrills through the whole season and demonstrated some sound, hard fought, fundamental football. ' In basketball Leona also had a very successful season. They worked hard and played some dand basketball in winning the Northern Lakes Southern Divi- sion Championship. The teams overall record of 12 wins and 11 loses was not impressive, but Coach Gulbrand built up his reserve strength in all the nonp conference games. The climax of the season was-the victory at the Jamboree giving them undisputed title to the championship in the whole conference. The team went on to win the sub-district tournament at Three Lakes, defeating Crandon, Three Lakes and Woodruff, they were defeated by Birnamwood in the district playoff. Q D. Zimmerman, T.
