PRIZE AWARDS To the graduating girl who most highly typilies the ideals of womanhood. the Hester Haze Memorial Prize was presented semi-annually by Dr. and Mrs. Harry Haze in memory of th:ir daughter Hester. a former graduate of this school. The Jamie De Bardeleben Stebbins Memorial Prize. donated by Mr. Frances Stebbins in memory of his wife. is awarded each semester to the senior boy who most nearly exemplifies the standards of true manhood. The Ida A. Lamb Award was established by Miss Etta R. Wilbur of the Central High faculty in memory of a former member of the faculty. This award is given to the graduating girl who has had the highest scholastic average throughout her high school career. The University of Michigan Club of Lansing has presented the school with a silver plaque. A boy from the graduating class is chosen for the privilege of having his name engraved on the trophy which remains the property of the school. The achievements especially recognized by this award are: leadership. scholarship. and athletics. The Foremanship Scholastic Award is given by the Foremen's Club of Lansing for high scholarship throughout the Industrial Course and consists of a complete course in Foremanship. The newest award is the Virgilian Scholarship Medal given to the students who have an average of B in Latin Seven and Eight. The prize was inaugurated by the Hodierni Romani of Central in celebration of the bimillenium of the birth of Virgil.
