The five candidates chosen by the class were: Barbara Davis, Mary LaLonde, Fannie lVlcFeaters, Carolyn Nadalin, and Leora Swayze. The date set for the dance is May l7th but at the time this is being written we don't know if the dance will be in the old gymnasium or the new cafeteria. Our theme song is 4'Deep Purple and our class flower, the lilac. We plan to decorate with purple and white and dance to the music of Eddie lVloore's orchestra. Two of the candidates, lVlary LaLonde and Leora Swayze, have been with the class since kindergarten, and two others, Fannie lVlcFeaters and Carolyn Nadalin, came from South Lansing to join the class in the fall of l94f8. Barbara Davis, came back to us in 1950 after attending King Ferry Central for three years. In order that the queen may be chosen, the class decided that those attending the dance should vote on the candidates already chosen. A couple's ticket will be worth two votes and a single's ticket worth one vote. The candidates have pictures, especially taken for the occasion, which will be on display at the door so that the Voters can choose from the contestants more easily. i24l , ff? si? We elected class officers as fol- lows: President-Carl Burke Vice-President-Frank Szalaiy Secretary-Marian Zifchock Treasurer-Frances Uher Miss Regan is our class advisor. After a few months elapsed we found it necessary to elect a new president because the former left school. At the following meeting we elected Christine Keim. We planned several class activities but most t of them were never carried through because of one thing or another. We planned a dance with an outside band but had to eliminate it because of difference in available dates be- tween the band and us, therefore, we had to hold a vic dance or nothing at all. We chose the Vic dance. We then had a dance planned for April 25th with the dance band playing, but had to cancel that because of the storage of materials in the gymnasium. Although we didn't sponsor much this year we took in a sufficient amount of dues to make up for it and expect to do better next year. E261
