L AH IAN 1968 LANSDOWNE-ALDAN HIGH SCHOOL LANSDOWNE, PENNSYLVANIA As another school year ends, a host of newly created memories are being stored in the minds of Lansdowne-Aldan students, to mingle with and replace older, slowly fading memories, which perhaps may be replaced by the memories of moments and years yet to come. Still, as names and events meet into the obscurity of the past, certain images will linger in the minds of all who have walked the halls of L-A High. These images are the faces which we see about us in the classrooms, the assemblies. and on the athletic fields. These faces, which comprise such a large part of our daily existence, will be with us throughout our lives, no matter where we go or what we become. The range of emotions covered hero is as varied and changeable as the face of Youth itself. Faces charged with the electric excitement of an athletic victory, the one ajid only th rillofaseniorprom, the satis fact ionofa good grade, or. perhaps, the frustration of a poor one hopeful, wistful, regretful, sad. foolish. All are here, and together they form a gallery of faces of achievement born of a year's living at Lansdowne-Aldan High School. 2 3 If wisdom be attainable, let us not only win but enjoy it. — Cicero Alfred Gallagher Assistant to the Principal E. The varsity basketball team, boasting a consistent. if unimpressive record of0and22.wasthe unchallenged occupant of Section M s cellar. Statistics. however, do not reveal the entire story. The added pressure of a long losing streak followed the Lords into every game, many of which were played against larger, more experienced teams. The schedule was rough and circumstances were not always the best, yet the Lords fought and fought hard for thirty-two minutes a game, never lying down, never giving up. They were defeated, but accepted their defeats like gentlemen, demonstrating that victory isnot.andshouldnot be. the sole reflection of a team's worth.
