Jr. l'lis face was familiar to everyone, for although dressed in a commanderis uniform he still had been able to take time from Naval operations to attend some school activities. His cheerful and friendly smile has a way of put- ting one at ease, and under his superior leadership we will strive for more cooperation and unity. Du. Dr. E. Carlton Abbott, our principal. worked faithfully under trying war conditions to keep our school at its pre-war standard. With such extra Du. E. CARLTUN ABBOTT ,FN 'Hs

His welcome was short-lived though as he resigned in February to take up lndus- trial Relations Work. Fortunately. we secured Mr. Laubach who too had just returned from the service. Wie wish him the success his forerunners had. Mr. Freeman and Miss Adams give the freshmen their start in algebra. while Mrs. Morris carries on with the angles of Plane Geometry for the sopho- mores.
