Tl1e First flag Hew on a forty-foot pole, but in 1903 a seventy-foot pole replaced it. lVl1en the pupils and the teacl1ers went to work to save their pennies and solicit donations, it was not long before each school room was equipped witl1 a flag. After pealing forth its summons for twelve years, tl1e old clapper hand bell was replaced by electric bells in 1910.
