OFFICERS Srntmi.' J a m e s Bean, Vice-pres.: jamesfurley, Pres.: Fay Heeb- ner, Sec.. Sflllltffllflf Merrill Bishop, Treas.: Mr. Rus- sell Fisher, Advis- C'I'. UNIOR CLASS Upon entering LHS in September I9-W, one hun- dred fifty-four juniors began the year by organizing their class. The following were elected to be their leaders: James Curley, presidentg James Bean, vice- presidentg Fay Heebner, secretaryg and Klerrill Bishop, treasurer. Klr. Russell Fisher continued as their class adviser. Many of the juniors were active in the field of sports and proved to be a great asset to the athletic teams. The musically inclined members of the class joined the band and a cappella choirg others proved themselves capable on staffs of literary publications and in the various clubs. Klany members of the class took part in the operetta and the annual play. In many ways the group gave its support to the school's activities and organizations. The juniors also contributed to the social life of LHS by sponsoring several successful dances. Ar the annual Christmas formal, Fay Heebner was crowned Junior Bliss of 19-l9, and she and her escort Phil Richart reigned supreme. The Junior Prom, held on llay 26 at VVillow Grove Park Ball- room, proved to be a fitting climax for their social events of the year. The Class of '51 has played an important part in all our days at LHS. We wish them much suc- cess as seniors.

OFFlL'I'lRS Kenneth Kriebel, Treas.1 Doris Hes- pell, See.Q Fred Shisler, Pres.: R. Saltmer, Vice- pres.Q Nl r. Karl Th om pso n, .Ml- viser. SOPHOMORE CLASS The Sophomore Class of the I9-l9-50 term started and continued its school year very successfully. The one hundred sixty-seven members of this class elected llr. Karl A. Thompson as their faculty adviserg Fred Shisler, presidentg Richard Saltmer, vice- presidentg Doris Hespell, secretaryg and Kenneth Kriebel, treasurer. The 'lsophsn supported and proved themselves to be proficient in the various extra-curricular activities Lansdale High School had to offer. The fellows made a good showing on the football and cross country teams and the girls did likewise on the hockey team in the fall season. During the winter they supported the basketball teams, and when spring arrived there were many tenth graders who reported for track, baseball, and tennis. Besides participating in sports, there were about twenty sophomores in the band and choir. The Nonet consisted entirely of sophomore girls. Three from this class were included in the Bux-llont Band-Fred Shisler, K. Kriebel, and Yvonne Destout. They were also represented in the high school play, the operetta, and many of the clubs. One of the most spectacular dances of the year, Cupid's Fling, was sponsored by these lads and lasses. The decorations were extraordinarily beauti- ful and original, and showed a great deal of time and preparation. The music was furnished by Fred Benner and his orchestra. Yes, these sophs certainly started their high school days off with a bang. Here's hoping that all the rest of their days in LHS will be just as suc- cessful.
