l -gf, X M, A YEAR OF ACHIEVEMENT H' is wifh much safisfacfion fhaf we look back on 'lhe achievemenfs of fhe year now closing. ln spife of 'rhe difficulf condifions imposed by fhe war our school has been able fo mainfain all of fhe normal services usually rendered fo fhe sfudenf body. The various exfracurricular acfivifies, including fhe Lan-Hi, fhe Lanphier Lighf, fhe afhlefic feams, fhe dramafic and speech groups, and fhe musical organizafions, have all had splendid records. The Sfudenf Council has done well in promofing sfamp and bond sales and in fhe collec- fion of scrap. Several courses have been exfended fo include problems relafing fo fhe wariefforf. The addi- fion of a pre-flighf course in aeronaufics is expecfed fo assisf several seniors in passing aviafion cadef examinafions. School schedules of a number of sfuclenfs have been adiusfed in order 'lo permif fhem fo work in fhe war efforf. Graduafes and former sfudenfs of Lanphier now enlisfed in fhe armed forces fofal approx- imafely fhree hundred fwenfy-five. Reporfs from fhese men indicafe fhaf fhey are serving fheir counfry well.
