Some think wistfully of the summer which has passed. Many look forward to new friends or a special teacher. Some are excited about club activities and athletic activities. Student Life - 15 16 - Student Life Winter always comes in with a flurry of activity. Highlights were: homecoming and powderpuff which marked the end of football season, Endless hours of rehearsal for Mother Courage, Obliging frogs for physiology students and the usual joking around with friends. Student Life Christmas season is one of brightness and cheer. The V8tV's were all smiles in their annual Christmas show. The Student Council made Christmas a reality for needy families and retarded children of Austin. Clubs began raising scholarship money with singing assemblies. The Student Senate hosted the state Student Council Convention Cand got the students a half day vacationj Lanier's beautiful people were displayed in the Beauty Revue, and the athletes began warming up for spring sportsg Yet in the midst of all the fun was the ever present pressure to keep up the old school work . . Student.Life - 23 24 - Student Life last weeks ot school brought deep involvement in school activities from some students and a waiting tor the year's end by others. baseball team put their efforts together to produce an exciting season and the GMP's spent hours rehearsing their award-winning play, Mary ot Scotland. Some seniors plunged headlong into the glamorous senior activities, while others, stricken with acute senioritis, weren't about to plunge into anything . . . Seniors '72 g- Rest in Peace.
