Dash: JIM GORE lst in districtg 1st in regionalg 4th in state I Y Er - all - -l SPRINTERS: Melvin Hodgkiss, Bob Ancira, Gary Don Griffith, jim Gore, Ralph Herrington, John Taylor, and members not pictured, Jimmy Castro, Dale McKown, Robert Hadd. The track team won two third places in invitational tournaments before going to the district meet where they took first place. The team went on to place third in the region and sent two entries to the State Meet. Larry Hanley, the outstanding team member, placed first or second in nearly every event he entered. He placed third in regional to climax his greatest year as an individual track man. The 440-yard relay team which combined Larry's talent with team members, Emsy Robinson, Eugene Robinson, and Chris Huey, placed first in district, and second in regional which qualified them for the State Meet where they placed seventh. Jim Gore climaxed his junior year by placing fourth in the state meet after winning both the district and regional 440-yard dash.
