Orchestra Wins Sweepstakes The orchestra at Lanier, sponsored by Mr. Jay Dunnahoo, functions as an organization which plays and studies music of the classics plus music of lighter veins. They presented numerous concerts and assemblies during the year, some in association with the Lanier Choir. The Lanier Orchestra was the only orchestra rated first division by every judge in the University Interscholastic League Concert and Sight Read- ing contests. For the first time in Lanier's history, students earned membership in an all-state music organization. Danny Williams and Carolyn Bobo distinguished themselves by securing a place on the All-State Youth Orchestra. The Lanier High School Orchestra officers were President, Cathy Meierg Vice-President, Sandy Ratliffg and Secretary-Treasurer, Vicki Slade.
