D.Z.K. Members Attend Convention The Lanier German Club was formed for students studying the German language. It is named for the German comedy Der Zerbroclaene Krug, by playwright Heinreich vonKleist. The name means the cracked mug or stein and suggests the club emblem, a German beirstein. The Christmas season brought the annual D.Z.K. banquet at Chariot Inn. The club also collected food and gifts for a needy family as a Christmas service project. The yearly Texas Association of German Students Convention was held this year in Lubbock, at Texas Tech. To raise money for the trip, the club brought the U.T. Olympic Weightlifting Team to Lanier. On April 2, thirteen D.Z.K. members traveled to the convention. To end the year, the second year German students were treated to a picnic at the Dolman's house and officers were elected for 1966-67.
