Faculty Years from now as we fondly recall our high school days, we Poets will find that many familiar faces pop into our minds. Our classmates. The football team. The cheerleaders. All these we will remember. There will be another group of faces we shall also vividly see again. These are the faces of our teachers, who not only helped us along the rugged road of book learning but also gave us much understanding of how to get along with others. To those of us who will look back with great love and pleasure on our school days The Oracle presents a portrait gallery of faces which comprised a great part of our high school life —a portrait gallery of our beloved teachers. MR. L. W. DOUGLAS Principal Mr. Douglas came to Lanier from Baldwin Junior High School in 1949. Previous to his teaching in Montgom- ery County, Mr. Douglas taught in Vinemont and Verbena. Being prin- cipal of Lanier is a hard job, for he must deal with large groups of people: teachers, students, and parents, be- sides taking care of the technical side of school. During his time here at Lanier, Mr. Douglas has truly done more than his share to keep Lanier one of the best schools in the country.

During the war she was away from our hallowed halls for a few years, but she returned soon after the war was over. In 1954 she was appointed dean of girls, and since then has devoted her time to counseling and helping the girls of Lanier.
