Authorities on the matter agreed Lanier Pep Rallies have reached an all time high spirit level. The cheerleaders have really pumped up the excitement with cheers, stunts and skits that led the student body to laugh, but at the same time support the team. They have been aided immensely by the Tiger and Tigerette, Mike Sel- man and lan Lazenby. The Pep Club has also helped them reach those new heights and give the team more spirit. The majorettes have done rou- tines every week to the swinging tunes blared out by the band under the direction of Drum Major Michael Sanders. The drum section has helped the crowd keep the beat with rhythms for the cheers and cadences while the people join in. The football players, in a group near the side, have absorbed the spirit and thrown it out on the field during the games. The students have enjoyed many funny occasions. Some of them were when the cheerleaders portrayed members of every typ- ical football team, when several of the teachers became Berry pies, when the cheerleaders and pep club did modern dance routines and when the cheerleaders became munchkins and did a lit- tle dance step to a Fifth of Beethoven. Exactly half-way through the season there was a week when spirit was running high, but the pep rally was comparatively quiet. It was . . . 16 X ,Eli .. ,
