These are tl1e days when visitors from the state and na- 5 tion throng the campus and convert it into one cosmopolition metropolis 5 of glad hearts and joyful souls. Q A track and field meet featuring the best h1gl1 school athletes of the Q U state is held on these days. The University High School is also repre- tj sented by a team. Q S Baseball games between the strongest teams of the state are staged ij U each day. Xo officials elimination is effected. .V Cf Q 9 For four weeks prior to this event a group of Langsto11's most F3 Q charming young ladies engaged in a contest of congenial honors of The ii Q Q Queen of May. This contest was wo11 this year by a lovely little lady Q' who hails from the city of Pushing, Olilill10llliI,Q Miss Ruth Mathews. A Q t I full page likeness of her will be found in society sectio11. This however, Q 3 will not be taken as a guide to all her charms as it does not do her justice. Q rl U fl 5 fi O11 the second day of tll1S grand frol1c a colorful parade consist- 5 fi A ing of the University Band, a float bearing the Queen, Ruth Mathews, 5 and tl1e Maid of Honor, Verniece Powel, followed by students of the 'J . . -I s . 1. rj fl - , L. I L Q 'f' ' De it of Phvsical Trfiinino' and the students of all other departments' 'C' 5 Fi formed at the gynnnasium and proceeded to the band stand where a stage 3 had been built. Here amid very beautiful appropriate ceremonies the B ci queen was crowned and indeed queenly grace shrouded her beautiful and 6 E stately form as this honor was conferred upon her. at . 0 . . . . at U I State contests in spelling, oratory, and 1llllS1C were held in connec- Q, Q Al tion with the May Day Fete.
