1242402 I shuddered, collected by nerve, and walked over to ask Ron what ldsreason was for digging up this grave. Ronnie replied that that night he had suddenly realized he had buried Donna Olsen by mistake. Donna, I remembered, was always getting into some sort of jam, but she usually managed to getout dfthem unharmed. The tables must have finally turned. Ronnie then said that his life was being threatened by Payton for trying to break up Ethel and Payton's marriage. It seems that Ethel and Ronnie had baamhaving a secret rendezvous, but Donna had found out Umar secret. Ronnie's play then was to get rid of Donna in a hurry. He did. This riddle proved too much for me, so I strolled on further into the now booming town of Langley. As I got into town I heard screaming, singing and who-knowsdwhat-else coming out of an upstairs window. Looking up, I narrowly averted disaster from a flying frying pan, a rolling pin, and Ricky Day, all following in close succession. I thought this would be his end but he bounced a little, rose, and danced lightw toward me. At this moment, more yelling, Joyce Rasmussen, and another frying pan advanced menacingly toward us. Ricky crouched tremblingly behind me, but as.Jqyce got closer she recognized me. This calmed her completely---to Ricky's relief. After we talked awhile, they kissei and made ug5and walked arm and arm back to their docile domicile. With this case closed, I continued on into town and heard Hawaiian music, so I strolled into the newly remodeled Fountain Cafe. I glanced around and saw, to my dismay, Pat Camandona trying to do the hula up on the counter. This amazed me, but even more, Lloyd Heggenes and Mickey Lanktree were sitting on the floor dazed--amazed. I groped to a seat and questioned the waitress, who I noticed was Barbara Becker. I couldn't believe it! She was now at least six feet tall. She explained that my friend Pitter went into these spells more often than not. When she did, Mickey and Llqyd, Cwho didn't have any- thing else to dol spent all their time watching her. Barbara then said Lloyd and Mick never came out of the daze for at least 148 hours and were never capable of eating anymore than pizza pies during these spells. I wished Barbara the best of luck and quickly made my way out of there. Suddenly, I slammed into Dennis Wilsonkgpushcart. It seems that Dennis had been courting Ruth Saylor. She demanded he pull her around Iangley in one of those carts. The woman sits, the man pulls. Looked like a wonderful life for Ruth, so I left Dennis to his troubles. As I went on down the street I noticed a sign saying WGary's spec- ial on baby diapers.W I looked through the window and there were Gary Dolstad and Marion Hapeman with at least six kids flocked around them. I went in and was very surprised to learn that Gary and Marion Hapeman had been secretly married right after graduation. They had been living in Siberia when Gary started his business selling babies' diapers and other infants' wear. Marion said that her and Gary's children used most of their merchandise. Gary just smiled at her sweetly. It was getting late so I flagged a taxi. As it pulled up I notic- ed it looked like some jet job. It looked awful, but there was nothing more in sight so I hopped in. Who should be behind the wheel but Eerna

O2 ,...l '+- '11 CQ' '51 C2 v-I Erickson who, I found, drove like a maniac!!! Berna said she got her job after Lem threw her over for Pat Brydges when Lem refused to wear his new long-flannel underwear. Berne said Lem sojourned to Alaska after graduation and told Berne to supply him with red flannels. She couldn't do this because of her low paying job, so Lem had been seeing Pat Brydges. I asked Berna where Brydges lived soshe drove me to the waterfront. I wondered if Pat were going down to sea in ships. I soon found out. As we pulled up,I noticed a girl throw a fish net over the side and then dive into the water in an attempt to scare the fish into her net. I had seen that it was Pat and figured that she was going down to the sea in fish instead of tg fish. It all was proving too much so I asked Berna to take me home. After I got home, it was too early to go to bed so I decided to go for a ride on m bicycle. I had ridden pretty far when I came to the steepest hill on Whidbey and started hitting a mighty pace. I was go- ing faster and faster till all of a sudden my brakes locked and I went flying straight at a farm house beside the road. As I landed, I nadea big splash in what I immediately found was a pig pen. I pulled myself out and started walking toward the house. I noticed about ten little kids peeking around each corner. There in the middle stood Marian Ehuley washing out, some of Gary's imported diapers. She had a baby strapped on her back. As I glanced in the house, there sat Johnny Erikson Cthey had just had twinsl with another baby watching the basketball star All American Charlie Bennett on T.V. Before they noticed me, I decided to stroll to the beach and get cleaned up. I saw a big ship at the dock where servicemen were going on and off. It was then that I noticed Robin Christoe and Donna Hasch tenderly kissing. It looked as though Robin had jwmsreturned and as though Donna were still waiting patiently for her sailor boys when they come and go. Glancing to my left, I saw Marlene Engstrom with tears running down her cheeks as she fondly bid farewell to her lover-boy, Jerry Saylor, as he departed for unknown places. Just then the Captain, James Wallace, hollered, UCut the necking, you swabs, or I'1l have m first mate, Jim Smith, throw you in the booby hatchln Out of the corner of my eye I saw something moving rapidly down the beach. As it came closer, I saw that it was they. They stopped as they saw me and guess who they were, Coach Dave Braathen training his track star, Della, for the Olympic team that year. The beach was getting pretty well smoothed down by this time, and Dave was raring to try out his new hotrod on his personal Aurora Speed- way. With this, it seemed to me I had had enough adventure so I wearily moved m sore feet back towards home.
