A Cappella Choir The A Choir is a unique organization in Langley because it not only brings pleasure and en- richment to its members, but also to those who listen to the music presented. The Band The band is a vital organi- zation in Langley, Their half- time performances during the football season are anticipated and enjoyed by all. After the football season, they begin prac- ticing for the Christmas pro- grams in which they take a part. During the spring they are kept busy preparing for the musical. This is the highlight of their yearly performances. Under the capable direction of Mr. Floyd Bennett, they Work together dur- ing the third period each day. The band should be commended for the fine job they have done this past year. During the home football games, the band accompanies the cheering crowd from their seats in the bleachers. and Majorettes The Majorettes are: K, Parris, head, K. Krasauskas, G. St.C1a.ir, P, Pace, J, Eyring. Half time is highlighted by the per- formance of the Majorettes. These girls spent three evenings a week in the sum- mer and also many hours after school, drilling for precision and accuracy. They work hard to promote school spirit and arouse enthusiasm among the stu- dents. Here they are pictured Wearing their new uniforms which were a bright and welcome addition this year.

One of the highlights of the evening was the Puerto Rican dance routine. It was performed by members of the A-Choir to America 'Carousel of Music' i Mr. Floyd Bennett, the band director, congratulates Charles Nemetz after his solo performance. Many hours of hard Work are put forth each year in preparation for the annual Spring Musical. On April 8th and 9th, 1965, the vocal and instrumental departments un- der the direction of Miss Kathryn Kahr, Mr. John Kehayas, and Mr. Floyd Bennett, presented Carousel of Music. The band presented avari- ety of numbers followed by the younger members of the vocal department performing songs from Mary Poppins. The program ended with the A-Choir's interpretation of West Side Story, The program was enjoy- able for both the participants and the audience. The musical was interrupted by a comic piano-tuner, who was also the surprise soloist of the evening. Beneath the disguise was Mr. James Reed of the History Department. 43
