Vanguard Theater Langley students look forward to presentations by the Vanguard Theater. Performers from the Pittsburgh Playhouse visit the high schools of Pittsburgh twice during the school year. Students enjoy both the assemblies which are presented and the individual readings given by the performers in English and history classes. This year theypresented two plays: RHINOC ERITIS and THE INFORMER, A scene from THE INFORMER is pictured. The mem- bers are: Edd K, Gasper, Tom Dennis, and Sunja Svendsen.

One of their main jobs is to deliver baskets of food to needy families at Christmas. This year they presented an assembly to the juniors and seniors emphasiz- ing the importance of good gov- ernment. Langley is proud of the boys in this club who are giving their time to help others, William McGivern, Key Club president, and Mr. William 'Kohut work together to plan the varied projects which the club will undertake. The number of students in A.V.A. was reduced this year because of the new schedul- ing program, This placed a great responsibility on the few remaining members. It was their job to keep up with the heavyfschedule de- spite the reduction in mem- bership. They also had to train more students and teachers so that the program of Audio Visual Aids could be continued in the class- rooms. :f:

A day in Langley High School is not complete with- out the P,A., announcements. During the homeroom period the students pictured to the left present a devotional read- ing followed by the daily an- nouncements and the calendar of events. The Broadcasters are trained and sponsored by Miss Ellen Booth of the Eng- lish Department. C The Stage Crew consists of, front: T. Doty, J. Schotsch. Second row: It is the job of the Stage Crew to control the lighting, scenery, and props of each program presented in Langley.
