Distributive Education Distributive Education, sponsored by Mr, Elliott Klein, is a course in which students prepare to face the business World. The morn- ing consists of classes in which students are taught the fundamentals of sales- manshlp. In the afternoon, they leave school to work at various jobs throughout the city. Their duties consist of anything from typing absence bul- letins to running errands. Recognition should be given to these senior girls who willingly give up their study periods to serve the school in this way. 33

ational Honor Societies The National Honor Society is an organization composed of the out standing students in the Senior Class. The members are, bottom S. Miller, S. Shoemaker, K. Klotz, S. Under the direction of Miss Carol Bailey, the Senior Honor Society, made up of the leaders and scholars of the Senior Class, served as the business staff for the yearbook. Members took orders for yearbooks and delivered them to the students. They were also responsible for the annual Homecoming Dance, one of the biggest events of the school year. This year, as always, Langley is proud of the members of this fine organization for their accomplish- ments and service to the school. Langley has a similar organization in the junior school. One of their main jobs is to deliver baskets of food to needy families at Christmas. This year they presented an assembly to the juniors and seniors emphasiz- ing the importance of good gov- ernment. Langley is proud of the boys in this club who are giving their time to help others, William McGivern, Key Club president, and Mr. William 'Kohut work together to plan the varied projects which the club will undertake. The number of students in A.V.A. was reduced this year because of the new schedul- ing program, This placed a great responsibility on the few remaining members. It was their job to keep up with the heavyfschedule de- spite the reduction in mem- bership. They also had to train more students and teachers so that the program of Audio Visual Aids could be continued in the class- rooms. :f:
