IIREIIUTIUI Future drivers are taught the methods and principles of driving under the supervision of Mr. Ivo Kirsch. The class, which is taught three periods in the day, has 36 enrolled. Each one has a chance for actual practice behind the wheel of the new Pontiac as well as classroom practice. The car presented to the school by Mr. John Sacco of Ingram is equipped with dual controls to assure safety during the student driving. The driver gets an opportunity to receive his license when the state officers visit the school at the completion of the term. Mr. Ivo Kirsch shows Nancy Brown how to start the car. while Carol Hawkins and Robert Scott look inside, Betty Porche watches from the rear seat. The music and art departments of our school help to prepare students for the enjoyment of their leisure time. While in both fields special attention is given to especially talented students, the foremost aim is to help the average students We acquire culture for future years This thing called art takes many forms: Although it doesn't look like much now, the thing Ernie Caldwell is working on will turn out to be a mask. Giving the students an added cultural background and an appreciation for music and art is the aim of the fine arts department. There are formal and informal activities for both boys and girls. Among the formal activities are hygiene, pool, and classes in physical exercise, Just for fun are basketball, volleyball, and mushball. The courses vary according to the grade of the studentg ninth and eleventh grade students take hygiene, and tenth and twelfth graders take only gym and pool.
