It is now 1967, andl am on my way ba ck for our class reunion. The train on which I am r i ding will stop in New York City. I shall stay over night in Hotel New Yorker. We have reached New York, and I am checking in the hotel. Iam passing through the lobby and s e e a Time Magazine. I see the names of some of myformer class- mates. Mrs. Aly s t e n e Bullock fformerly Alystene Bush? is editor-in-chief. The presi- dent is John Murphy. I am now about half way the page and I notice other names. The associate e d it o r s are Marjorie Fair, Annie Bell Hunt, Betty Frances Clinton,James Edward Hammonds, Morris Haywood, Juanita Trotty and George Chamberlain. I am sur- prise to see that most capable student, Melvis Evans is art director. I am about readyto go to sleep, but straight to the bottom I see that the publisher is none other than Miriam You- mans. It is 4:30 a.m. and I am on the train. Glancing all around, I see a familiar face. It is none oth e r than Vernease Jenkins who is owner and instructor of the Jenkins Business School. She informs me that she and LaJean Brown, who is in the back, are on their way to the class reunion also. Aswearrive in C ha r 1 o t t e , North Carolina, we see Carrie Kelly who tells us that she is now executive secretary of the Delmar Publishing Co. Carrie info r m s us that RosalynAl1enis a shake- dancer at Club Exaultsier. Our next stop is Augusta, Georgia and Lucy Laney High School. Upon arrival at the school I notice other class- mates who are waiting to meet us. At the left is Charlie Mae Jasper wearing a light blue Ca rmen Jones dr e s s with a hat to match. Beside he r is the little Evelyn Reese Mimns who is mar rie d and have 12 children ina row behind her. Our a ctivitie s ended at a r e uni o n party of w hi c h Lorenza Williams was M.C.
