Marian f settle... l .CBO CQ T IS MORNING, and the masses are on the march. From all directions the proud processions arrive, the throngs of students advance- Soon there gathers outside the doors of Lane Tech a vast multitude! Then a bell rings, and suddenly they are seen no more. Where do they go? Do they stop? No, that is not possible, for a Lane student is always on the gol To him, idleness is inconceivable. Onward he moves through corridors and classrooms, textbooks and subjects, tests and grades. Upward he moves from semester to semester, freshman to senior, looking on to new friends and new experiences. But the motion through halls and semesters is a minor thing, controlled merely by the ringing of bells and the dates on calendars. This is something which every school has. There is another kind of motion-a type of motion that is gaining more and more fame for Lane as the years progress. lt is controlled only by the student's own initiative and willingness to work. It is the motion acquired by the constant increase in the amount of knowledge, capacity for understanding, and range of ability-a decisive factor in determining outside interests, personality, often his degree of maturity, and even his Outlook on life! Again, the Lane student excels. He is the student with the forward look -his feet on the ground for better traction, and his head in the skies for clear visibility. l-le's moving faster, because of Lane Tech, than ever before in previous years, gathering momentum with which to conquer the years ahead.
