Front Row: Quillinan, Mr. Gannon, Prince, Miller, The LANE TECI-l STUDENT COUNCIL is a very select group, with one representative from each division. The council, which is under the sponsorship of Mr- Gannon and President l-l. Cantor, tries to promote the general wel- fare of the student body, improve the appear- ance and spirit of the school, and conduct community projects. Each semester the coun- cil sponsors a student assembly and such pro- jecis as book drives for veterans, and music for the lunchroom. The student court, which is affiliated with the student council, has the responsibility of trying all hallguard discipline cases. Working with Chief Justice Prince are student judges who are in good standing with the school- Most students on their first offense will be put on probation, but if the offense is serious enough there will be adequate discipline administered and a very close record kept. lt is through the student budget committee that the various contributions are made to different charities, and students are supplied with book covers. Mr- Nuccio is the head of this committee, and it is his responsibility to see that it functions smoothly, This group handles donations for various charities, funds and community projects, directly from stu- dent fees which are paid at the beginning of each semester. Socials Displa Efforts Of Two Committees In the dimness of the crowded gym, we take notice the numerous preparations which the SOCIAL COMMITTEE devises to make the gym attractive, to create a mood that keeps our fingers snapping and our feet tap- ping, The decorating committee, with an en- dowment of artistic and creative talent, as well as a seemingly endless supply of energy, skillfully produces a setting that is second to none.
